.
I remember back in the mid...DOMA - what a joke.
.
I remember back in the mid-90s, Elizabeth Birch of HRC was debating with Bob Barr (R) of Georgia, the sponsor of DOMA. Birch asked Barr, who had already been divorced twice, just which one of his three marriages he was defending. HA! As always, the hypocrisy of the Republican Party astounds.
.
I think that if the Powers-That-Be want DOMA, then I say, 'Fine, as long as we have a law banning divorce.'
.
With that kind of restriction, DOMA will last about 2 seconds.John DePaulanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31547125.post-34556269540964185502009-06-14T15:52:39.893-07:002009-06-14T15:52:39.893-07:00Has there been any discussion concerning my sugges...Has there been any discussion concerning my suggestion regarding the breach of promise to marry ? If the promise to marry same sex was rendered prior to prop 8 when same sex was legal in Ca, is a breach of promise law enforceable after p8 ? Look at the definition of "marry". It would make an interesting court case and who knows what could come of it.Bad Actorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18388101966861824546noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31547125.post-39235862259012895482009-05-29T13:14:27.721-07:002009-05-29T13:14:27.721-07:00Semantics should be explored:
